Stephen A. Yarabek, ASLA
Principal
Stephen Yarabek is a licensed Landscape
Architect whose work has received numerous
design and environmental awards since 1978. He is
known for his award-winning landscape designs at
Foundry Dock Park and the Tarrytown Conference
Center, Tarrytown, New York. He has been
responsible for the historic landscape restoration
and maintenance of several Hudson River Valley
properties, most notably Montgomery Place at
Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. As a consultant
to several Hudson River villages, he has
spearheaded landmark legislation preserving
historic landscapes, views and ridgelines along the
Hudson Shoreline.

Mr. Yarabek is a frequent lecturer on the landscape
of the Hudson River Valley. He has also served as
a Bioregional educator and landscape architect
artist-in-residence in Westchester schools on grants
from the New York State Council on the Arts and
has taught graduate level courses at the University
of Oregon, Portland State University, Rutgers
University, Columbia University, The Conway School
and the Charles University in Prague, Czech
Republic.

He is the American landscape Architect involved in
the creation of the Prague - Vienna Greenway
(Zelene Stezky) a 200-mile greenway between
Prague, Czech Republic and, Vienna, Austria. In
May 1990 the Czechoslovak Government awarded
Mr. Yarabek with a prestigious membership as an
architect in its agency for the preservation and
reconstruction of historic objects in Prague
(SURPMO). This honor was conveyed in recognition
for Mr. Yarabek's contributions in Landscape
Architecture and Environmental Planning to the
newly formed democracy.

Prior to founding the Los Angeles office of Hudson
& Pacific Alliance and the New York office of Hudson
& Pacific Designs, Mr. Yarabek was a
design associate at Miceli Kulik Associates
(Rutherford, New Jersey) and also had worked as
project manager at David Simon and Associates
(Los Angeles, California).

Mr. Yarabek holds a BLA from the University of
Oregon. There he led a professional design team
that established the Master Plan for Portland's
Washington Park Zoo.

Hudson & Pacific Designs provides landscape
architectural services to its New York City clientele
through Mr. & Mrs. Yarabek’s store, Bloom, at 541
Lexington Avenue. Bloom is a premiere floral and
lifestyle establishment.
